I think these are stunning! I too, war with keeping my fifth graders (i educate ok-five) at the level of art information and a hit completed product that i need them to. I think it's good to understand that when you're throwing plenty of "artwork vocab" (whether or not they've heard it before or now not) together with method at them in a single lesson, what i've discovered is that it has a tendency to "freeze" up some of the students. I'm continually treating my older ones like little adults, but it's exact to step again and say, what's the most important element i need them to get out of this lesson, and attention on that. It feels like it would make the effects greater simplistic, however, as an instance, if you need them to cognizance on team spirit of their completed product, i'd try an "experimental" kandinsky (no longer on watercolor paper) where you may see whether or not the effects are what you're searching out. Then, once they've had time to "play" with the idea of creating summary expressionist art work with those unique artwork materials, have them do a very last product focusing on unity with what they have already learned from the previous one they did.
